Philbrook Law:
On Your Side, By Your Side – No Matter What
Experienced trial attorneys serving Vancouver, Battle Ground,
Washington and Oregon State
Since its formation in 2005, Philbrook Law has fought for thousands of people whose lives took unexpected turns. We’re proud of the work we’ve done, but even prouder of the roles we’ve played in the fight for justice for our clients. We’ve celebrated their joys, mourned their losses, and stood up each day to fight the good fight on their behalf.
That’s why when you need a legal team, we want you to choose us. Philbrook Law helps real people with real problems, who need to find a way forward. Whether you’re suffering because of another person’s negligence or facing criminal charges, we are here: on your side, by your side – no matter what.
A full-service law firm that puts your goals first
When Philbrook Law first opened, we focused exclusively on personal injury litigation and negotiation. Our hard work and belief in our clients’ rights, combined with our dedication to holding insurance companies, corporations, and professionals accountable for wrongful acts, has led to impressive victories on behalf of the people we serve. We have fought the good fight on behalf of thousands of clients and their families, and we will continue to do so long, long into the future.
The same clients who came to rely on our honest and ethical approach to the law started asking for our help with other legal matters – a criminal charge they were facing, or a traffic ticket they got. We were happy to offer those services to our clients because that’s what we do: we help people. Over time, we realized we could be of greater service by expanding our firm’s offerings, especially because one legal issue can sometimes lead into others.
We invite you to learn more about all of our services, and learn more about how we can help.
Meet the team at Philbrook Law
The relationship we build with our clients is important to us. It helps us understand their goals, and tailor their cases in a way that works best for them. Lawsuits can take time, and one of the most effective ways to reduce unnecessary costs and delays is by making sure the whole team is involved in every case we take. It’s why we have remained small in size; your case is personal to us, and you deserve our undivided attention.
Why should I choose Philbrook Law to represent me?
While we are a trial law firm, we are proud of our track record of successfully resolving a high percentage of claims through negotiation or mediation, and through diversion programs, special courts, and even plea deals. Fair pre-trial evaluation is less expensive and less stressful for our clients – but to get there, you have to be ready to go to trial.
This is why we chose to put our efforts into expanding our abilities, knowledge base, and resources, instead of the expanding the size of our team. Obtaining fair results requires real effort and absolute commitment. Trial lawyers must bring judgment, preparation, credible experts, well-developed trial techniques, a complete understanding of applicable law, and knowledge of medicine, economics, taxes, and insurance to each case.
Answers to commonly asked questions
Do I really need a lawyer for a car accident?
People ask us a lot if they really need to hire a lawyer for their car accident claims. Often, the insurance company will make an offer that you might think is fair, and the idea of a lawsuit can be overwhelming. But here’s the truth: more often than not, simply hiring a lawyer is enough to get a better settlement offer right from the start. And if the insurance company refuses to play ball, then you already have a team on your side who can fight for you.
Do I have to wait to hire a criminal defense lawyer until after I’ve been charged?
NO. If you believe you are going to be charged with a crime, you should hire a criminal defense attorney as soon as you can. Once you’ve been arrested, things can move pretty quickly. The sooner you hire an attorney, the better it is for you, especially if you’ve been asked to come down to the station for a “chat” before a potential arrest.
How much is my case worth?
A case’s worth is determined by a lot of factors, and every case is different. Without a detailed assessment of what happened to you, and what your damages are, we can’t give you a fair and honest answer to that question on our website. It wouldn’t be ethical, and it wouldn’t be fair to you.
Will I have to go to trial?
Not always. Our attorneys are fierce negotiators, and we’re proud of how often our clients can avoid a trial because we were able to secure a better settlement, or work with the prosecution to get our clients into a diversion program (or have their charges dismissed altogether).
There are times, though, when we feel a trial is your best chance at the best possible outcome. We’ll discuss that option with you, and work through it together.
